Copycat websites hit J-M

1 min read

Jefferson-Morgan School District is working to remove two copycat websites that are using district logos and legitimate information from the school’s website to solicit for advertising money, district officials said Thursday.

The sites were discovered recently by school board Treasurer Cindy Jento.

School board President Lisa Mattish said the district found identifiable information on both websites, and the district’s technology coordinators have reached out to the sites’ creators, demanding they be taken down immediately.

“They agreed to take them down,” Mattish said about the people in control of the copycat websites. “But we will see.”

Officials said the only legitimate district website can be found at www.jmsd.org. The district also disseminates information on a Facebook page at www.facebook.com/JMSDRockets.
