Corruption charges: Randal J. Higgins Jr., 54, of 1873 Arlington Ave., Canton, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge David Mark on charges of corruption of minors, attempted corruption of minors and indecent assault for allegedly inappropriately touching a 12-year-old at his home last November. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bond.

Medication stolen: Dan Dalesio of 124 Dorothy Ave., Canton, told state police Wednesday that several bottles of prescription medication were stolen from his home.

Fight reported: Zachary A. Teagarden, 21, of 51 Ullom Road, Washington; Matthew L. Cypher, 22, of 312 Park Ave., Canonsburg; and Tyler Lee Overdorf, 25, of Lock Haven, all will be charged by Chartiers police with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness stemming from a fight about 12:10 a.m. Thursday at Mr. Big’s on Racetrack Road.

Stolen coins: Phillip H. Stanger, 29, of 36 Teagarden Homes, Clarksville, was charged Sept. 18 with receiving stolen property after state police said he possessed a jar containing $720 in coins that had been stolen from an A Street home June 11.

Theft warrant: An arrest warrant was issued for Dennis James Kern, 61, of 352 Narigon Run Road, Claysville, on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass after police say he entered a barn at 34 Browntown Road, Cross Creek, on Sept. 5 and stole copper fittings, a chainsaw, two gas cans and a toolbox.

Drug charges: A Fredericktown woman was arraigned Wednesday on drug charges stemming from an Aug. 26 undercover investigation by East Bethlehem Township police. According to the criminal complaint, police bought nine suboxone films for $20 each in the parking lot at Frederick Terrace and discovered the packaging had been altered to conceal who owned the prescriptions. Courtney Lynn Lavins, 28, of 143 Frederick Terrace, is charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance that is adulterated and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 cash bond set by District Judge James Ellis. A preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. Oct. 7 before District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

Fleeing, resisting arrest charges: Christopher Hilverding, 47, of 260 Flower St. Waynesburg, was charged Wednesday by state police with resisting arrest, fleeing or attempting to elude officers, driving with a suspended vehicle registration, driving with a suspended license and traffic violations. According to the criminal complaint, Hilverding was stopped by police on North Wade Avenue. He then allegedly drove off at a high speed, abandoned his vehicle on Wilmont Avenue and attempted to elude police on foot before being caught. Hilverding was arrraigned Wednesday before District Judge James Ellis and placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. Oct. 7 before District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Simple assault: McDonald Borough police charged Adam Lee Modine, 36, of 106 Johnston St., Apt. B, McDonald, with simple assault, disorderly conduct, hazardous and physical offense and harassment after he allegedly struck his girlfriend, Tara Amic, several times in the head and body Wednesday. Modine was arraigned before District Justice James Ellis and released on $2,500 bond.

Burglary charges: State police charged Dustin F. Virgili, 26, of 51 Short St., Mather, with burglary, criminal trespassing theft and receiving stolen property after he allegedly stole $18,501 in equipment from a First Street residence in Morgan Township on Dec. 19. State police filed the charges against Virgili on Sept. 18 and he was arraigned by District Judge Glenn Bates and taken to the Greene County jail on $25,000 bond.

Theft from vehicle: A carton of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of change were reported stolen Wednesday from two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Hemlock Drive in McMurray, township police said.

Unauthorized use: Kylie Humphries of 588 Fayette St. told Washington police Wednesday that she allowed her boyfriend to drive her black 2006 Nissan Altima but that he never returned with the car. The license plate is JJL-9455.

Warrant arrest: Lori Hensel Reed, 32, of Connellsville, was taken into custody Wednesday on a Westmoreland County bench warrant on an outstanding theft charge after state police came into contact with her in Washington. She was released to Westmoreland officials and placed in that county’s jail.
