Hackers take control of Pennsylvania county’s website

1 min read

INDIANA (AP) – Two hackers took credit for invading the website of a Western Pennsylvania county and posting a profanity-laden message on its home page.

The Indiana Gazette said Indiana County’s site, www.countyofindiana.org, was hacked sometime before 7 a.m. Monday.

The hackers bragged, identifying themselves as Fouzi Baws-DZ & Farouk General Hardly, along with a link to a Facebook page for one of them. The Associated Press could not find links to Facebook pages for either of the hackers Tuesday.

The county took down the site while it worked to improve security. The website was operating normally Tuesday.

Authorities haven’t said whether they have any suspects or immediate plans to charge the hackers.
