DA: Investigation underway into crash that killed girl

1 min read

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Authorities in western Pennsylvania are working to determine how an underage man obtained the alcohol police say he consumed before a crash that killed a 6-year-old girl.

Police say 20-year-old Travis Grayson, of Millvale, lost control of his car Saturday night and hit the Shaler girl and her mother. He is charged with homicide, involuntary manslaughter and other offenses.

Police said Grayson told them he drank 10 beers, smoked marijuana and “was driving like a stupid idiot.”

Grayson has been cited three times for underage drinking.

A spokesman with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s office says they are working with police as the investigation into the girl’s death continues.

No attorney was listed for Grayson in court records on Tuesday.
