Monessen man arrested after drugs found in home

MONESSEN – A city man was arrested on his birthday Friday on charges he possessed 10 bricks of heroin in his residence last month.

City police said they were led to James Greer, 27, of 602 McKee Ave., after they questioned a suspect police had under surveillance during an alleged drug deal March 17 near Greer’s residence, court records show.

Police found four bags of heroin and a syringe in his living room.

Greer allegedly told police he had five bricks of heroin in the sofa, and another five bricks in a floor safe in a bedroom closet, the affidavit states. Police said they also seized $1,200 from the safe. Greer, who is charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and is in Westmoreland County jail on $100,000 bond set Friday by District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
