Assault arrest: David J. Bauer, 55, of 518 Weaver Ave., Canonsburg, was arrested Sunday night on charges of simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Melanie Broker, at their home after the two returned from the Pittsburgh Pirates game. He is accused of punching her in the face, causing her to fall forward into the corner of a glass coffee table. He told police that she hit him first and he was defending himself. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on a $10,000 percentage bond.

Stalking case: Arthur P. Benoit, 61, of 452 Hudson Ave., Carroll Township, is charged by township police with stalking and harassment, court records show. He is accused of leaving more than 30 messages with sexual content and threats on a woman’s cellphone between March 27 and Friday. Benoit will receive his charges in a summons from District Judge Mark Wilson.

Theft investigation: Cody W. Kelley, 20, of 713 Washington Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with receiving stolen property over accusations he attempted to sell on a social media site a miniature stereo that was stolen Jan. 18 at 400 Chamber Plaza, court records show. Kelley will receive the charge filed Friday in a summons from District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Public drunkenness: Jules W. Redman, 50, of 15 Meriage St., McDonald, was charged by McDonald police with public drunkenness after he reportedly was found lying motionless in the middle of Oak Lane in Midway Saturday afternoon. Police said he was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.

Retail theft: Francis Todd Gradischek, 49, of 84 W. Wheeling St., Washington, faces a retail theft charge by summons, North Franklin police said, after a theft of $93 worth of clothing from Macy’s on Jan. 31.

Warrant arrest: Joshua M. LaBella., 30, of 105 E. Hallam Ave., Washington, was taken into custody Sunday afternoon by North Strabane police during a traffic stop for an equipment violation on Route 519 near the Park ‘n Ride. Police determined that LaBella, who was the driver, was wanted on a bench warrant issued by Judge Gary Gilman for failure to appear on a charge of retail theft filed by South Strabane Township police. He was placed in Washington County jail on the bench warrant.

Possession charge: Anthony H. Johnson, 48, of McKeesport, was charged Friday by North Strabane police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, as well as traffic violations, stemming from a March 12 traffic stop on Racetrack Road. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Retail theft: A woman left Rite-Aid at the corner of Washington and Waterdam roads shortly after 1:30 p.m. Friday with a shopping cart half full of merchandise that was not paid for. Police said she left in a silver sedan going south on Washington Road.

Vandalism reported: Several residents of the 200 block of Robinson Church Road, Robinson, told McDonald police Friday morning that it appeared a baseball bat was used to damage mailboxes in the area.

Drug arrest: Norman A. Cerra, 57, of Bloomingdale, Ohio, was arrested Saturday by Smith police on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of paraphernalia and traffic violations stemming from a traffic stop on Route 18. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.

Drug charges: Eric J. DePalma, 32, of 1495 E. Beau St., Washington, was charged Friday by state police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia stemming from a Feb. 19 traffic stop on Route 136 near Lakeview Drive, South Strabane. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

DUI, paraphernalia charges: Sara Leann Hadlock, 28, of 59 New York St., Washington, was charged Friday by state police with possession of paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and traffic violations stemming from a traffic stop Thursday at the intersection of Oak Grove Road and North Main Street in South Strabane. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Pallets stolen: The owner of A-Z Supply, 40 Berry Road, told South Strabane police Friday that a man and woman loaded 75 skids of wooden pallets valued at $450 into a Budget Rental truck and drove off. Police are checking with Budget to determine who rented the vehicle.

Assault arrest: Corey Walker, 23, of Washington, was arrested Friday by Washington police on a charge of simple assault after he allegedly assaulted Lisa Ritchea during a confrontation at her home at 690 Addison St. He is accused of throwing a chair at her Friday morning and then hitting her that afternoon. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on a $10,000 percentage bond.

Theft arrest: Michelle Jane Mellars, 48, of 680 Broad St., Washington, was arrested Friday by Washington police on a felony charge of retail theft after she allegedly stole dog food, cat food and candy from Circle K, 701 W. Chestnut St. Mellars was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond.

Teen charged: A 15-year-old Washington boy was charged Saturday by Washington police with disorderly conduct after he allegedly was found standing on the hood of a vehicle parked in the 10 block of Dewey Avenue. Police were contacted by a passerby. There was a small dent in the hood.

Harassment, disorderly charges: Eva Gilbert, 48, of 670½ Jefferson Ave., was charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct and harassment after she allegedly returned to 1054 Jefferson Ave. about 1 a.m. Sunday after being told to stay away from the residence.

Money stolen: Devonna Gray of Washington told Washington police that $215 was stolen from the console of her vehicle after she gave a ride to a man Sunday. Police are investigating, and charges are pending.

Woman assaulted: Tiffany Stone, 26, of 1108 Maple Terrace, told Washington police Sunday her boyfriend grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the floor during a confrontation. Charges are pending.

Assault police with a vehicle: Russel I. Porter, 20, of 690 Addison Ave., faces two charges by summons of aggravated assault, and individual charges of aggravated assault by vehicle, causing an accident involving damage, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and possession of drugs, Washington police said. Porter sped away from police Friday in a Chevy Malibu during a routine traffic stop on West Chestnut Street and increased speed in the chase in which he crossed into opposing lanes of traffic and was ultimately apprehended after crashing into a police cruiser, fleeing the scene and was found with six unidentified prescription pills.

Assault: Mason Doyle Smith, 24, of 515 W. Chestnut St., faces summons charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, harrassment and endangering the welfare of children, Washington police said, following a Saturday domestic dispute on Sycamore Street in which a female victim was punched and poked in the face by Smith. The accused also allegedly struck a 13-year-old after the female victim’s child threw a candle jar at Smith.

Assault: Sierra Nicole Kelley, 22, of 139 Church St., faces summons charges of simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment for incidents on March 23 in which she allegedly struck the face of her boyfriend at 803 W. Chestnut St. after she seeing him with another woman, Washington police said. Kelley then attempted to break the victim’s car windshield and broke off an outside mirror, police said, as well as ripped his shirt and broke his glasses.

Drug charges: Travis Alexander Wolfe, 26, of 172 Prigg Rd., had in his posession upon admittance to the Washington County Jail on March 9 several contraband items, Washington police said, including two needles, a metal tube and packs of rolling papers and will be sent a single charge of drug posession by summons.
