Marianna official completes jail sentence on DUI charge
A member of Marianna council completed a jail sentence last week on a DUI charge.
Jeremy Alan Berardinelli, 36, reported to the Washington County jail Friday to serve the balance of a sentence on a charge of driving under the influence to which he pleaded guilty March 18 and was sentenced to two days to six months. He already served 31 hours in the case, and was released Saturday morning, having served the balance of the minimum sentence, according to Deputy Warden Edward Strawn.
State police charged Berardinelli following an incident in July 2014 in which he was accused of having threatened to shoot his neighbor with a rifle and firing a rifle six times outside his home on Sixth Street. He was pulled over by state police, who said his blood alcohol content was 0.11 percent, more than the legal limit of .08.
Berardinelli was also ordered to serve one year of probation on a charge of disorderly conduct in the same incident, according to court documents.
A charge of aggravated assault was withdrawn in a lower court, according to court documents. Records also indicate prosecutors agreed not to pursue charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment and driving without a license in exchange for the guilty pleas.
