The Daughters of Grace Choir will present “Come as You Are,” an evening of scripture and music, at 7 p.m. Friday at Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels. An offering will benefit Deeper Still of Mountaineer Country, a local nonprofit providing healing and hope to wounded hearts. The 40-plus voice volunteer choir, composed of women of all ages from Greene and Washington counties, will be accompanied on piano by Carilyn Beabout and on flute by Betsy Day. The concert is free, and refreshments will be served afterward.
State Sen. Camera Bartolotta, R-Carroll, is hosting two “Coffee With Camera” events in Greene County next week. The public events April 15 will allow residents to have an informal conversation over coffee with Bartolotta about what is happening in their communities and at the state legislature in Harrisburg. The first event will be held at Eva K. Bowlby Public Library at 311 N. West St. in Waynesburg from 10 a.m. until noon. The second event will be at Center Township fire hall on Route 21 in Rogersville from 2 to 4 p.m.
Flags for veterans’ graves will be available from Greene County Veterans Affairs. Organizations, such as American Legion and VFW posts, can pick up flags from 8:30 a.m. to noon May 6 in the alley at the rear of the Veterans Affairs office, 22 W. High St., Waynesburg. The distribution for cemeteries will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 9 through May 13 at the Veterans Affairs office. For information, call at 724-852-5275.
