South Strabane Township police charged two people who allegedly purchased cellphones and a tablet and opened a cellphone account using the identity of a South Fayette Township woman.

Matthew R. Thompson, 26, whose last known address was on Irishtown Road in Bethel Park, and Lauryn Mockridge, 28, of South McDonald Street in McDonald, are charged with theft, conspiracy and theft by deception by false impression for allegedly using the information to make the purchases at Sprint, Trinity Point, in October.

Mockridge allegedly told police she obtained the information from the woman’s personnel file while they were co-workers at a business. Police said she told them and Thompson, her former boyfriend, sold the cellphones or gave them to drug dealers. The value of the items and service is almost $4,775.

Police are obtaining a warrant for Thompson. The charges against Mockridge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Anyone with information on Thompson’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-225-8111.
