Belle Vernon man charged with firing gun in Rostraver Big Lots
BELLE VERNON – A Belle Vernon man is accused of firing a gunshot into the floor of a Big Lots in Rostraver Township on New Year’s Eve.
Rostraver police on Monday filed a charge of reckless endangerment against Donald K. Dolan III, 26, of 36 Sampson St., in connection with the incident about 1:15 p.m. Dec. 31 in the store at 142 Finley Road, court records show.
Police said they found Dolan standing with his hands above his head and facing the front of the store when they arrived there that afternoon.
An officer removed a 9mm handgun from the pocket of his sweatpants, which had a hole in them where the gun was stored. The bullet traveled through his pants and lodged in the tile floor. The gun was sent to a state police laboratory to determine if it functioned properly, which it did, the court record shows.
Dolan will receive the charge by summons from District Judge Charles Christner.
