Waynesburg University’s Colleges Against Cancer club will host its ninth annual Mini Relay for Life from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the university’s Johnson Commons. The public is invited to participate in myriad activities scheduled throughout the day. The theme of the event is “Relay Around the World.” Activities new to the event this year include a balloon artist and a magician. The Friends of Ryerson Station State Park will hold an informational meeting at the park visitor center at 6:30 p.m. Monday. People are invited to attend to help revitalize the “friends group” and to learn how the group can benefit the park. A Pennsylvania Parks and Forest Foundation representative will attend. Participants can learn how to help organize events, maintain trails and public spaces, raise money for Ryerson Station park.
The buffet dinner planned for April 24 at the New Freeport Fire Hall has been canceled.
