Avella man enters plea over stolen vehicle case
WAYNESBURG – An Avella man pleaded no contest Tuesday to receiving stolen property in connection with a stolen pickup truck that was eventually recovered in Washington Township.
As part of a plea agreement, Ed David Fowler, 27, of 83 County Park Road, was sentenced to 15 months to 7 years in prison by Greene County Judge Lou Dayich and the term will run concurrently to a sentence he is now serving on numerous charges from Washington County.
Fowler was arrested Sept. 22 after a pickup truck, stolen earlier in Clairton, was found at Ruff Creek Market in Washington Township. A witness told police Fowler was driving the vehicle.
Fowler’s sentence will run concurrently with a 9- to 18-year sentence he is serving for several charges in Washington County, including aggravated assault, according to online court records.
Fowler pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault charge in Washington County Court in December.
The charge stemmed from an incident in September when Fowler attempted to escape custody at Washington Hospital and sprayed a sheriff’s deputy in the face with an aerosol disinfectant.
