ETNA (AP) – A couple has been fatally shot in a Western Pennsylvania apartment, but police say a suspect is in custody after a neighbor intervened and held the man at gunpoint until police arrived.

Allegheny County police Assistant Superintendent James Morton says investigators are piecing together what led to the shooting in Etna about 7 a.m. Friday.

The suspect was taken to county police headquarters for questioning, though charges were expected to be filed against him later Friday.

Morton says police believe two couples were in the apartment when a dispute occurred and one man shot the other couple. It wasn’t immediately clear what prompted the shooting.

The names of the victims and the suspect were not immediately released.
