Gun, GPS units stolen from vehicles in Washington
A revolver and several global positioning systems were among the items stolen late Tuesday or early Wednesday from vehicles parked in Washington’s West End and Tylerdale neighborhoods.
Washington police Chief Robert Wilson said some of the vehicles were locked but others were not.
The gun and a GPS unit were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Broad Street in the city’s West End.
A resident of the 900 block of Addison Street reported an amplifier, compact discs and a GPS unit stolen from his unlocked vehicle. A resident of the 600 block of Addison reported money stolen and that the glove box and console had been rifled by the thief.
A GPS also was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of West Chestnut Street. A GPS unit and lottery tickets were stolen from another vehicle parked in the block.
A woman who lives in the 1000 block of Summerlea Avenue in Tylerdale said the corner wing window of her vehicle was broken.
The culprit rummaged through her vehicle but she did not believe anything was stolen.
“Take your valuables inside and make sure your vehicles are locked,” Wilson said.
