Charges against a Marianna man who was accused of helping to kidnap his cousin’s ex-girlfriend have been dropped.

District Judge Robert Redlinger dismissed charges against Christopher Duncan, 26, of 128 First St., April 11.

Washington police charged Duncan in February with criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and unlawful restraint.

Redlinger’s office said the charges were dismissed because the alleged victim wouldn’t testify against him.

Police said Duncan and his cousin, Corey J. Talley, 38, of 986 Jefferson Ave., Washington, forced the female to leave a building on Jefferson Avenue with them, accompany them to a house and later walk with them to a gas station, where she managed to escape by running to the state police barracks.

Charges of unlawful restraint, terroristic threats and simple assault filed against Talley were held for court April 11.
