A West Virginia man is in Washington County jail as he awaits a formal arraignment on charges in connection with the alleged rape of a girl in Hanover and Jefferson townships.

David Darnell David, 66, faces two counts each of rape of a child and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and three counts each of indecent assault, indecent exposure and corruption of minors in connection with three incidents involving a girl, who was 6 at the time, that allegedly occurred between September 2009 and October 2010.

District Judge Gary H. Havelka ordered the charges against David held for court Monday. Formal arraignment is scheduled for June 28.

David, formerly of Hanover, was already convicted on charges related to an assault on a 3-year-old in Brooke County, W.Va., when Pennsylvania State Police filed charges against him in December.
