MURRYSVILLE (AP) – Police say they shot and wounded a man who exchanged gunfire with officers outside a Western Pennsylvania gas station.

Murrysville Police Chief Tom Seefeld says officers responded to a Marathon gas station on Wednesday night after receiving reports that the suspect was threatening employees. He says the suspect shot at police at least twice as they arrived. Officers returned fire, hitting him at least once as he was running toward the gas station.

Authorities say the suspect was taken to a hospital. Police didn’t disclose his condition.

No one else was injured in the incident.

Authorities didn’t immediately identify the man or the officers involved.
