A senior citizens’ day will be held Thursday at Monongahela Township Community and Senior Center, 110 Martin’s Ferry Road, Greensboro. The event, from 1 to 3 p.m., will feature Wii bowling, puzzles, games and refreshments. Greene County Bar Association will hold its annual Law Day program April 29 beginning at 11 a.m. in Courtroom No. 1 at Greene County Courthouse. The keynote speaker will be visiting Senior Judge Hiram Carpenter. The topic of this year’s program will be “Miranda: More than Words.” The morning’s program will be followed by a luncheon provided by students from Greene County Career and Technical School.
Greene County Conservation District is hosting an informational meeting at Morris Township Community Center at 6:30 p.m. Thursday to discuss potential water quality improvement projects with any and all landowners in the Brown’s Creek Watershed. The Brown’s Creek Watershed includes most of Morris Township, the southwestern section of Washington Township and small portions of both Center and Franklin townships, as well as the communities of Swarts, Nineveh, Sycamore, West Union, Deer Lick and Reese Mill. All home, farm and recreational property landowners are encouraged to attend the informational meeting and provide feedback. Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging will hold a free, fall prevention clinic for older adults at Shannopin Civic Club, 777 Larimer Ave., Bobtown, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 12. The clinic will focus on fall prevention and include a personal fall risk assessment. The Area Agency on Aging’s Prime Time Health is partnering with Bobtown Senior Center and NovaCare Rehabilitation to host the event. Lunch will be provided at no cost. A rummage sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Monongahela Township Community and Senior Center, 110 Martin’s Ferry Road, Greensboro. The event is a fundraiser to support the center. Donations of usable items will be accepted at the center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday and April 30.
