A judge revoked the bond of a Beaver County man awaiting sentencing in a vehicular homicide case following the man’s conviction for driving under the influence in West Virginia.

William J. Lee, 33, of Georgetown, pleaded guilty to charges of homicide by vehicle and failure to obey traffic-control devices in Washingotn County Court Thursday. During Lee’s appearance, DiSalle also ordered him committed to Washington County jail.

Hanover Township police filed charges in July 2015 in connection with the Oct. 5, 2014, crash that killed Kimberly Darges, 50, of Bethel Park on Route 18 near McCutcheon Road.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Darges family,” said Phil DiLucente, Lee’s attorney. “It’s a very sad day on a lot of levels, but I’m sure no one can fathom their loss.”

DiSalle ordered a presentence investigation. Lee was free on his own recognizance.

Prosecutors requested the revocation because Lee violated bond conditions by getting arrested.

DiLucente said his client was charged with driving under the influence March 31 and was convicted April 15.

First Assistant District Attorney Chad Schneider said the incident was in Hancock County, W.Va.

The Hancock County prosecutor’s office didn’t return a call seeking details about the incident.

None of the charges filed against Lee in the 2014 crash was related to alcohol use.

Hanover police said they received a report of a collision between a car and a motorcycle shortly after 8 p.m.

Darges, 50, was on her motorcycle when a vehicle driven by Lee struck her.

Darges was taken to Weirton (W.Va.) Medical Center and died there.

Court papers said Lee told police he tried to stop at a stop sign but was unable to do so.
