Simple assault: Gregory Thomas Walters, of 161 Woods St., Nemacolin, was charged Monday by Cumberland Township police with simple assault, disorderly conduct and driving while suspended for an incident that happened around 11 a.m. April 1. According to court documents, Walters was allegedly pulling into Route 21 Mobile Home Park, in Carmichaels, when he got out of his car to ask the driver behind him, “Why are you following me, old man?” The other driver, Joe Dickey, told Walters he was not following him, police reported. Walters then punched Dickey in the face and drove away, according to court documents. Dickey told police he’s had a prior incident with Walters when Dickey threatened to call the police after witnessing a domestic dispute between Walters and his girlfriend, according to court records.

Criminal mischief: Retha L. Wise, of Nemacolin, was charged Monday by Cumberland Township police with criminal mischief, careless driving, driving at a safe speed and accident damage to an unattended vehicle for a Feb. 16 crash on Route 88 in Carmichaels that Wise was involved in. According to court documents, Wise allegedly hit ice before driving her vehicle off the road at 885 Route 88, causing about $540 in damage to the yard and mailbox, and leaving the scene without notifying the property owner.

Driver charged: Jeffrey McConnell Jr., 26, no address given, will be charged for allegedly failing to stop for police who were attempting to pull his vehicle over for a traffic violation at 9:28 p.m. Wednesday in Nineveh. Morris Township police said McConnell fled at a high speed. He later turned himself in and faces charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless driving and other charges.

Theft: A resident reported to state police her weed trimer was taken from her house on Jollytown Road last week.
