The Pennsylvania Game Commission Hunter-Trapper Safety Course scheduled Saturday at Harveys Grange had been postponed until Oct. 29.

Penn State Extension is holding “Cooking for Crowds: A Volunteer’s Guide to Safe Food Handling” workshop for people to learn methods for safely handling and preparing food for large groups. The workshop is appropriate for nonprofit food providers such as churches, fire companies, schools and civic groups. The event will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. May 12 at Point Marion United Methodist Church, 502 Morgantown St., Point Marion. Cost is $25 for an individual or $50 per organization for up to four participants, and an additional $5 for each additional participant from the same group. Individuals and organizations will receive a food safety manual, posters and a food thermometer. Call Penn State Extension at 724-837-1402, or register online at extension.psu.edu/food-safety.
