The Pittsburgh Banjo Band will perform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Waynesburg Lions Club Park, behind Waynesburg Aquatic Center, as part of the Waynesburg Lions Club Sounds of Summer concert series. Those who attend are asked to bring old eyeglasses to donate to Lions Club. Nonperishable food items also will be collected to be donated to Greene County families. Pets and alcohol are prohibited at the concerts. There will no concert next week because of the fair, but concerts will resume Aug. 16 when Courtney, Cassidy and Lexie perform at Lions Club Park.

West Greene Lions Club is holding a bake sale Friday on the Greene County Courthouse steps starting at 8 a.m. until everything is sold. Along with baked goods, the club will have hot sandwiches, cabbage and noodles, vegetable pizza, pasta and fruit salads.

There will be a giveaway of a large selection of clothing, along with other items, from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Rogersville United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall. For more information, call 724-499-5385 or 724-499-5159.

The 14th Annual Jefferson Classic will be held Friday and Saturday at Jefferson-Morgan Elementary High School. A cornhole tournament will be at 7 p.m. Friday. The following day’s activities kick off with Fun Run for Kids at 8:45 a.m. and the 5K walk & 5K run starts immediately afterwards. Prizes are awarded for the top 3 male and female finishers. The popular 3-on-3 basketball tournament will start after the 5K ends. Family and individual registrations are available. There will also be family games and food available.
