Route 980 reopening pushed back
The section of Route 980 (McDonald Street) over the tunnel north of Route 50 in Cecil and Robinson townships is now set to reopen Aug. 26, five days later than expected.
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesman Jay Ofsanik said the original reopening date of Aug. 21 was untenable because contractors found more grading and repair work was needed so drains could be set properly. The posted detour follows McDonald Street to Routes 4037, 4012 and 980. Work began on the road Aug. 1
