Thefts from vehicles reported in North Franklin Township
North Franklin Township police said they have been taking reports for the past week from residents who had items stolen from their vehicles.
Reports started coming in early last week about thefts from vehicles in the Gabby area, said Sgt. Dean Urbanic. Then, later in the week, about a half-dozen vehicles were entered in the Lincoln Hill area.
Another 10 vehicle owners in the Sycamore Reserve area reported vehicles entered Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Urbanic said the thieves seem to be fanning out, checking doors on vehicles. Most of the thefts have been happening between 8:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
“All of the vehicles were unlocked,” Urbanic said. “People need to lock their vehicle doors, even if they are parked in their driveway.”
The sergeant said some watches and loose change were stolen from the vehicles.
Anyone with information on the thefts or who have seen something suspicious is asked to call police at 724-228-9610.
