Craft beer aficionados, wine-fancying epicureans and food-truck gourmands can find plenty to enjoy this weekend at the second Corks & Kegs Festival – along with plenty for shopaholics, music lovers and vintage car enthusiasts.

Hosted by the Observer-Reporter and held at The Meadows Casino in North Strabane Township, the festival will open at 12 p.m. Saturday and close at 9 p.m.

On Sunday, registration for the classic car “Cruise-In” – with hundreds of cars circling the racetrack – will start at 9:30 a.m. The show will open at 11 a.m. and the festival will last until 7 p.m.

“We tried to enhance the experience from last year to this year,” said Carole DeAngelo, director of marketing for Observer Publishing Co. “We doubled the number of vendors.”

The event includes family-friendly activities and two musical acts each day on South Hills Auto Main Stage.

Vendors from around the region will offer jewelry, clothing, pottery, housewares and other art and fine goods.

“People actually came here last year, spent the entire day, shopped, and then they went into the casino,” DeAngelo said.

Visitors should come hungry – 19 food trucks will serve up everything from savory barbecue to Japanese cuisine.

“It’s a totally eclectic mix of food,” she said. “There’s no reason that someone can’t find something to eat here.”

Last year, the festival drew about 20,000 people. DeAngelo hopes to double that number with good weather.

Admission and parking are free. Guests must be at least 21 to enter the beer and wine tent.
