Outreach to hold clothing drive Saturday
WAYNESBURG – Greater Waynesburg Christian Outreach will hold a school clothing drive at First Baptist Church in Waynesburg from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
The outreach will have gently used clothing free for schoolchildren of all ages and new clothing and shoes at “extreme discounts,” outreach director Ashley Beaman said.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. at the church, 303 W. High St.
Beaman said the organization, which has been holding the drive for more than 10 years, collects clothes throughout the year.
She said there also will be local hairdressers from different churches in the area to give students free haircuts.
Beaman said there are no income requirements for the event and last year, they had 140 families register and served hundreds of children. People can bring in donations until 1 p.m. Friday.
