Police beat Dec. 7
Resisting arrest charge: James Robert Bissett, 47, of 237 March Ave., Nemacolin, was charged by Cumberland Township police with resisting arrest after police tried to arrest him on a felony warrant Nov. 30 at his township residence. Police said Bissett asked what he was being arrested for multiple times and resisted the handcuffs, before police wrestled him to the ground.
Assault alleged: Roy Frederick Thorne, 71, of Fairmont, W.Va., was charged by a detective with the Greene County district attorney’s office with simple assault and harassment following an incident Sept. 18 at Joe Romeo’s I-79 Honda, 100 Free Soil Road, Mt. Morris. The alleged victim told investigators that she was mopping the floors in the showroom of the car dealership when her coworker, Thorne, allegedly began threatening and swearing at her, according to court documents. The woman told investigators that Thorne told her that he “should just kill her,” the complaint said. She told investigators that Thorne approached her with a closed fist raised and shoved her into a child’s plastic playset. Investigators said they viewed the incident on surveillance video.
