Water main break closes section of Route 519 in Eighty Four
A water main break caused single-lane traffic restrictions on Route 519 in Eighty Four, from Route 136 to the roundabouts. That stretch was closed earlier in the day and was expected to remain closed until 7 a.m. Thursday, said Melissa Walters, spokeswoman for Pennsylvania American Water.
The break in the 30-inch main occurred about 11 a.m. Wednesday, initially forcing a shutdown of the southbound lane of Route 519. Water was shut off and repairs were underway in the early afternoon. Walters said customers in the area were not affected.
