Franklin man sentenced
A Franklin Township man who was convicted during a non-jury trial in September of crashing his truck while under the influence of alcohol nearly two years ago was sentenced Monday to three days hours arrest followed by six months probation.
Frank Borovichka, 64, of 515 Purman Run Road, was arrested Jan. 14, 2015 after crashing his truck on Route 19 in Washington Township.
State police said Borovichka then walked home from the crash. Troopers later found him at home and he initially denied driving the truck, before admitting to being involved in the crash. He had a blood-alcohol level of .161 percent, twice the legal limit to drive, police said.
Borovichka was found guilty Sept. 15 by Greene County President Judge Farley Toothman of all charges including DUI, incapable of driving safely. He was also convicted of false reports to police, accident involving damage and careless driving.
In addition to the three days house arrest and six months probation through county intermediate punishment, Farley ordered Borovichka to pay $875.
