Police beat Dec. 10
Escapes injury: Shirley Ealy, 74, of Claysville, escaped injury Thursday afternoon when her vehicle went off Rural Valley Road near Foster Road, Buffalo, hit a wooden post and went over a hill, coming to rest in a field. State police said she swerved her southbound vehicle, which was being approached by an oncoming vehicle partially in her lane.
Medication, card stolen: Christina Dusenberry of Smith Township told McDonald police Monday her prescription medication and debit card were stolen from her purse while she was at a store in Burgettstown.
Rifle stolen: Synthia Webb of 122 Linda Court told Canonsburg police Thursday her husband’s Remington pump-action rifle in a tan case was stolen from the bed of his pickup truck.
Packages stolen: Jennifer Reese of 220 Spruce St. told Canonsburg police Thursday three packages from Kohl’s delivered to her home by United Parcel Service were stolen from her porch.
Driver injured: Sharon Anderson, 64, of Arden Road, Chartiers, was injured early Friday when she crashed her vehicle on Arden Road near the entrance to Arden Salvage Yard. She told Chartiers police she saw an oncoming vehicle in her lane, and she swerved into the opposite lane. Her vehicle went off the side of the road, hit a tree and rolled over. She had to be freed from the wreckage by Chartiers firefighters. Anderson was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
Warrant signed: Michael James Russo, 36, of 601 Meadow Ave. Rear, Charleroi, is charged by city police with possession with intent to deliver fake heroin, criminal conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a traffic stop at Route 906 and the Donora-Monessen Bridge about 8 p.m. Dec. 3, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso signed a warrant for Russo’s arrest Wednesday.
Driver faces charges: Joseph A. Gazvoda, 57, of Triadelphia, W.Va., faces charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of heroin and possession of paraphernalia after he crashed into a guardrail on Millers Run Road near Hornhead Road Dec. 3, knocking a front wheel off the pickup truck, Mt. Pleasant police said. He allegedly admitted to police he had used heroin before driving. Police said they found suspected heroin and paraphernalia in the truck.
Megan’s Law violation alleged: Clarence W. Richter Jr., 51, of Lemont Furnace, was charged this week by North Strabane police for a Megan’s Law violation for failure to report his change in employment when he started working earlier this year for a township trucking company. He is no longer employed by the company. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Drug charges: Jarrod J. Mitchell, 40, of 1101 Willowbrook Drive, South Strabane, was arraigned Friday before District Judge Jay Weller on charges filed by South Strabane police and the Washington County Drug Task Force. He was charged by a task force detective with delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility. Mitchell allegedly sold Suboxone to a confidential informant in April, indicating that he sold that drug to get money for heroin. Township police said they charged him with possession of paraphernalia after a relative brought items from his home and turned them over to police Thursday. He was placed in Washington County jail on $30,000 bond.
Two charged: Justin A. Jacobs, 23, of 75 Tarbuck Lane, Washington, and Jacob M. Mikec, 36, of 616 Bower Hill Road, Venetia, were charged this week by South Strabane police with placing false information on a firearms application and unsworn falsification when they tried to make separate purchases of firearms in 2015 from Ace Sporting Goods, 412 Washington Road. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Drug, prostitution charges: Chelsea V. Dallatore, 24, of 255 Prigg Road, Canton Township, was charged this week by state police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia and prostitution. She is accused of offering to perform a sex act with an undercover state trooper in exchange for $180 during a May 20 incident at Motel 6, South Strabane. Police said they also found her with 12 stamp bags of heroin and paraphernalia. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Vehicle damaged: Angie Henderson of Canonsburg told South Strabane police Wednesday that her vehicle was damaged while parked at X-Mark, 2001 N. Main St.
Two charged: Joshua Matthews, 29, and Krista M. Campenelli, 26, both of 52 Shannon Ave., Washington, were charged Thursday with possession of a controlled substance and parapheranalia. Washington police were called to their home Nov. 23 when suspected cocaine, marijuana and paraphernalia allegedly were found during a state parole compliance check on Matthews. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Charged in assaults: James Leach Jr., 45, of 101 N. Main St., Washington, was charged Thursday by Washington police with two counts of simple assault and one count each of harassment and disorderly conduct. He is accused of assaulting two men Nov. 27 at Ewing Street and Canton Avenue. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Paraphernalia charge: Kelsey Lynn Gray, 29, of 849 Henderson Ave., Washington, was charged Thursday by Washington police with possession of paraphernalia during a Dec. 1 traffic stop on Orchard Alley. She was a passenger in the vehicle. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Light system stolen: Robert Sostaik of 70 Leet St. told Washington police Thursday that his star shower Christmas light system was stolen from outside his home.
Paraphernalia charge: Amanda Hixson, 26, of 100 Highland Ave., Washington, was charged Thursday by Washington police with possession of paraphernalia after police say she was found with empty stamp bags during a Nov. 23 incident at Shop ‘n Save, 100 W. Beau St. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
All-terrain vehicle found: State police in Belle Vernon said Friday they are looking for the owner of a green all-terrain vehicle that was found in a wooded area near Suzy Lane and National Pike (Route 40), West Pike Run, on July 3. The make, model and other identifiers are known by police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-6262.
