DEEMSTON – A drug raid on a Deemston house Thursday resulted in the arrests of three people and seizure of drugs, including fentanyl and crack, police said.

The resident of the small house at 2430 Martindale Road, Jennifer Dawn Greene, was later placed in Washington County jail along with Samantha Lee Howes, whose address is unknown, and Michael A. Martin of Philadelphia, who has an extensive criminal record in his home county, court records show.

Armed with a search warrant signed by Washington County Judge John DiSalle, a state police Special Emergency Response Team entered the front door about 7 p.m. and were met by the three suspects. A newborn also was in the home, an investigator noted in the affidavits supporting the criminal charges.

Police said they also seized a variety of drug paraphernalia from the residence, along with Suboxone and small amounts of marijuana.

Mail containing the address of another woman who two days earlier suffered a heroin overdose also was found in a rear bedroom, along with a box of fentanyl patches. Police said $1,200 was seized from a bedroom closet, along with $176 found in other areas of the house. Officers also seized $421 from one of Martin’s shirt pockets, the affidavits indicate.

Greene, 48, Howes, 38, and Martin, 33, are charged with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Howes faces an additional charge of endangering the welfare of children over allegations she allowed her child to reside or visit a location involved in drug use or delivery, police said.

Howes is awaiting trial in Washington County Court on charges of intimidating witnesses and obstructing a child abuse report stemming from an assault case in March in East Bethlehem Township, while she lived in Clarksville.

Martin was charged by Philadelphia police in 2005 with attempted homicide, robbery and related charges. He was found not guilty of attempted homicide, but was sentenced in July of that year to 7 1/2 years to 15 years in prison on the other charges, court records show.

Greene is jailed on $100,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson. Martin and Howes are jailed on $250,000 bonds. Martin also is being held on a state parole violation.
