Gun missing: A black Walther P22 pistol was reported missing from a home at 7 East Hillsboro Road on Dec. 3, state police said.
CANONSBURG
Neighbor arrested: Tina Carr, 45, of 155 Smith St., Canonsburg, was arrested Sunday morning by Canonsburg police on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and public drunkenness after she allegedly broke into a neighbor’s home. She reportedly broke out windows to enter the home. Police said they found her standing inside the residence, and when they entered she ran out the front door and tried to enter her home. She was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Transformer fire: Canonsburg police and firefighters were called about 4 a.m. Monday for a report of a transformer that had exploded and caught fire in the 300 block of Munnell Street.
Building vandalized: The owner of a building at 360 Euclid Ave. told Canonsburg police Sunday that vandals sprayed paint on the garage.
CANTON
House burglarized: Benjamin W. Burgess, 32, of 426 Houston St., Washington, was arrested early Monday by state police on charges of burglary, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He is accused of breaking into the home of his ex-girlfriend on Elizabeth Street in Canton. He allegedly damaged a vehicle parked outside the home. When troopers found him on Summerlea Avenue, he allegedly struggled with them when they tried to take him into custody. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County Jail on $75,000 bond.
CARROLL
Man jailed: Dale Richard Shaffer, 27, of McKees Rocks, is charged by township police with obstruction, resisting arrest and aggravated assault, court records show. Police accuse Shaffer of fleeing Mon Valley Hospital on foot, knocking over and injuring a security guard, after an officer told him he was being arrested on bench warrants about 5 a.m. Friday. Police used a Taser to subdue Shaffer, who is in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
EAST BETHLEHEM
Vehicle vandalized: A vehicle owned by Nicole Gray was spray-painted Dec. 3 while it was parked in the 500 block of Front Street, state police said.
FALLOWFIELD
Intimidation alleged: Stephen B. Gency, 58, of Wood Alley, Monongahela, was charged Monday by state police with intimidation of witnesses or victims after he allegedly threatened to harm a 51-year-old woman who was the victim in a case in Fallowfield if she appeared for a court hearing. The alleged intimidation happened Dec. 3, police said. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.
MONONGAHELA
Drug arrest: Lerae Bizzelle, 38, of 821 Meldon Ave., Donora, was arrested Sunday night by Monongahela police on charges of criminal use of a communication facility, possession and possession with intent to deliver crack and paraphernalia and traffic violations stemming from a traffic stop on Railroad Street. Police had made plans with a confidential informant to purchase crack from a man driving a red Dodge minivan. After text messages were exchanged between the informant and suspect, a location set up for the purchase. After the buy, the vehicle was stopped and a police dog from Elizabeth alerted officers to drugs. The informant gave police the suspected crack. Bizzelle allegedly told police that he agreed to provide an unspecified quantity of crack for $100. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bond.
NEW EAGLE
Woman charged: Lana Rae Blue, 28, of 114 Union St., New Eagle, is charged by Monongahela police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of children after the vehicle she was driving with three children as passengers caused a four-vehicle crash involving three parked vehicles in the 400 block of Main Street about 8:30 p.m. Dec. 5, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges in a summons Friday.
Charges filed: Jennifer Lynn Haberstock, 36, of 3670 Finleyville Elrama Road, Union Township, is charged by Monongahela police with forgery and retail theft over allegations she attempted to purchase cigarettes with a counterfeit $20 bill at a 7-Elevern 468 Main St., about 4 p.m. Dec. 7, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson signed a warrant for her arrest.
WASHINGTON
DUI alleged in crash: Jason C. Lowe, 44, of 59 Burton Ave., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with driving under the influence of alcohol after a crash about 2 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of South Lincoln and East Maiden streets. Police said his vehicle went onto the sidewalk, hitting a pole and brick wall on the campus of Washington & Jefferson College. He was taken to Washington Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine his alcohol level. He also was treated for injuries.
Woman assaulted: Washington police will charge Henry Cohen, 64, of 719 Fayette St., Washington, by summons with aggravated assault after he allegedly choked his 31-year-old girlfriend, threw her against a Christmas tree and into a wall. Her two daughters ran to get help, and Cohen allegedly fled from their residence before police arrived. The woman refused treatment for her injuries.
Account hacked: A 70-year-old Washington woman told Washington police that $300 was charged to her debit card not long after she got off the telephone with a caller who claimed that the victim’s computer had been hacked. The alleged victim told police that the caller wanted her to send $1,450 in gift cards from Walmart for the repair service. She told police that she became suspicious and ended the call. A short time later, she discovered the charge on her debit card.
Jailed on parole violation: Windale Barfield, 31, of 865 Addison St., Washington, was taken into custody Saturday by Washington police on a parole violation after police say he was seen running from a home in the 700 block of Fayette Street after officers were called to the area for suspicious activity. Police said Barfield stopped running but continued to walk and refused to remove his hands from a hooded shirt. He was taken into custody but struggled with officers as they tried to put him in the cruiser, police said. Barfield was placed in Washington County Jail on the parole violation and will be charged later with resisting arrest.
Medication stolen: Nancy Pillon of 154 N. College St. told Washington police that prescription medication was stolen from her room Friday.
