PITTSBURGH (AP) — Police have identified a Pittsburgh man who allegedly stabbed his parents at their home and stole oxycodone painkilling pills from his father.

Public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler says the attack occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday at a residence in the Knoxville section of the city.

Police plan to file robbery and aggravated assault charges against Mark Kissel, who remained hospitalized with a self-inflicted neck wound.

Police say Kissel stabbed his mother several times and his father once before cutting himself on the neck. The victims were taken to UPMC Mercy in stable condition.

The suspect was being treated at UPMC Presbyterian hospital. Online court records don’t list an attorney for him.
