Update: Canonsburg water-main break disrupts traffic, service
A water-main break in Canonsburg disrupted service to about 30 residents Sunday and caused a closure on a section of Morganza Road near the intersection of Weavertown Road.
According to Gary Lobaugh, a spokesman for Pennsylvania American Water, a 12-inch pipe broke on Morganza Road around midmorning. Company-supplied tankers are supplying water to commercial customers.
Lobaugh said service is expected to be restored around 8 p.m.
The water-main break caused a sinkhole in the road, which will remain closed as workers repair the area.
Canonsburg Mayor David Rhome is asking motorists to avoid Weavertown and Morganza roads.
