A man was found dead inside his South Franklin Township home, more than three weeks after the house caught fire.
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said a fire restoration company discovered the body of Edward Donald Kerns, 53, of Park Avenue, Prosperity, Monday morning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Warco.
The fire occurred Dec. 3 at 12:30 a.m., and a search of the home was conducted.
Kerns’ family filed a missing persons report following the fire, Warco said.
Kerns’ death is under investigation by state police in Washington.
