Electronics collections scheduled
The 2017 monthly electronics collections will be held from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at Washington County Fairgrounds, 2151 N. Main St., Washington, on Jan. 3, Feb. 7, March 14, April 4, May 9, June 13, July 11, Aug. 1, Sept. 5, Oct. 3, Nov. 7, and Dec. 12.
The event will be canceled in cases of extreme weather, such as thunderstorms or snowstorms, or if the temperature is at or below 25 to 30 degrees. If cancelled, the collection will not be rescheduled. Cancellations will be posted on the Washington County Planning Commission website at www.co.washington.pa.us/planning. A monthly collection hotline, 724-250-4839, can also be called the day of a scheduled collection.
Computer monitors, computer towers and bases, mice, keyboards, speakers, notebook computers, printers and televisions will be accepted. Televisions are limited to one per carload per event. Compact fluorescent lights and 4-and-8 foot fluorescent tubes will be accepted for a charge of $1 per bulb. Freon appliances will be accepted for a $15 fee. Only cash will be accepted.
