Alleged robbery plans thwarted
A Canton Township woman was arraigned Thursday on two counts of criminal solicitation after she allegedly tried to get two people to rob the fast-food restaurant where she worked last month.
Alayna Weishner-Rush, 23, of 17 Mark Ave., is accused of trying to solicit a Washington man and woman to rob Burger King, 775 Jefferson Ave., while she was working the drive-thru window.
The plan called for the robbery to occur about 10 p.m. on a night when she was scheduled to work. Weishner-Rush allegedly gave specific details about how to rob the restaurant and told the two to wear masks. They were to go to the drive-thru and order something before going to the window and robbing her, city police said.
Police said they learned of the plan when the two who were solicited by Weishner-Rush contacted them Jan. 14. No robbery occurred.
Weishner-Rush was placed in Washington County jail Jan. 15 on a probation violation. District Judge Robert Redlinger set bond at $10,000 on the solicitation charges at the time of her arraignment. She is scheduled for a Feb. 16 hearing before Redlinger.
