W.Va. minimum wage to get 75-cent bump

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia’s lowest-earning workers are set to get a raise in 2016.
On Friday, the state’s minimum wage grows from $8 an hour to $8.75 an hour.
The change was included in a 2014 law that initially raised the wage in January 2015 from $7.25 to $8 an hour.
Before that, the state minimum wage had not gone up since 2008.
The current federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, a mark that has not changed since 2009.
