Roscoe man arrested in Elco disturbances

ELCO – A Roscoe man is accused of breaking into his girlfriend’s house Saturday night after assaulting one of his neighbors in nearby Elco during an argument over money.
State police charged Jeremy M. Fritz, 24, last known to reside at 62 Rebecca St., with simple assault, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct in connection with the disturbances that began about 9:20 p.m., court records show.
Police accuse him of creating a disturbance with Trevor Flaherty outside Flaherty’s residence at 205 Jobes St. in Elco. The victim was found by police in his living room “screaming and crying” and complaining of facial pain, the affidavit supporting the criminal complaint indicates.
Police said Flaherty had no visible injuries but was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
Following that disturbance, police said, Fritz walked to 62 Rebecca St. and kicked in the back door.
When police arrived there, Fritz allegedly admitted to being involved in the fight and then began to take the television cable box with him when police asked him to leave.
Fritz’s girlfriend, Jennifer Buttermore, began to argue with him, causing a trooper to stop him from taking the cable box.
A Taser was then used to subdue Fritz after he pushed a trooper and fell to the floor to resist being arrested, court records indicate.
Buttermore also told police she was afraid of Fritz and no longer wanted him there.
Fritz was released Monday from Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
