Police beat Jan. 7

Betty Lou Gray, 51, was charged by summons with simple assault in connection with a Jan. 4 altercation at 1090 Michigan Ave. after she allegedly punched Amanda Stiles, according to Washington police. A report Thursday misidentified Stiles as the suspect, rather than the alleged victim.
Gun charges: Curtis W. Reed, 30, of 665 Ewing St., Washington, was charged by state police with illegal possession of a firearm as a felon, possession of a firearm without a license and receiving stolen property, court records show. Reed, who was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by state police at Jefferson and Woodland avenues about 2 a.m. Jan. 1, had a stolen handgun in his possession. He is free on $25,000 set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Gun threat: Lisa R. Oliver, 41, was charged by township police with making terroristic threats, theft, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, court records show. She is accused of stealing a wallet from a woman and then threatening to shoot and kill everyone at 72 Maple St., Muse, about 1 a.m. Jan. 1. She is in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Assault charge: Corey Samuel Walker, 24, of 3252 Constitution Boulevard, Claysville, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger for simple assault after a domestic dispute Tuesday in which Walker allegedly struck and choked a woman, state police said.
Assault arrest: James R. Hall Jr., 54, of 389 Paris Colliers Road, Hanover, was charged by state police with simple assault, accused of shoving his daughter’s head onto a counter about 2:45 a.m. Jan. 1 at his residence, court records show. He is free on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Terroristic threats: John William Swierczek, 33, of 249 N. Franklin St., was arraigned Wednesday on charges of drug possession, terroristic threats and illegal possession of weapons after he allegedly threatened a woman with a knife early that day, according to court documents. State police responded to 104 E. Pike St. for a report of a domestic dispute, and also found a silver metal pipe with marijuana residue. Swierczek was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Jailed on warrants: Jacob D. Majors, 23, of 409 Knox Ave., and Tyler Majors, 22, of 205 Parente Blvd., both of Monessen, were apprehended on separate warrants after police found them in a basement of a residence in the 300 block of First Street about 11:45 p.m. Jan. 1 after city police were summoned there to investigate an alleged marijuana party. Jacob Majors was sent to Washington County jail on a warrant for failing to pay court costs. Tyler Majors was sent to Westmoreland County jail on a domestic relations warrant.
Resisting arrest: James Hayes, 35, who uses two Monessen addresses, is charged by city police with reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, court records show. City police accuse him of spitting blood on police officers who arrested him after they followed a trail of blood to 547 Summit Ave. and discovered him outside with a head injury and involved in a disturbance with a neighbor about 6:15 a.m. Dec. 31, court records show. Police said he also struggled with officers who took him to the police station to be treated by Mon Valley Emergency Service, and later at Monongahela Valley Hospital. The police vehicle needed to be cleaned at a cost of $500. Hayes is awaiting arraignment in the case.
Heroin paraphernalia: Jimirro Thomas, 23, of 413 Forest Ave., Monessen, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, including 254 empty heroin stamp bags, stemming from city police officers being sent to 412 Pearl Ave. about 1:40 p.m. Monday to serve a warrant obtained by state police in a drug case. Thomas is in Westmoreland County jail on $5,000 bond.

Drug charges: Rodd Ray Allison, 29, of 684 Sandhill Road, Dallas, W.Va., was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger on two counts of drug possession with intent to deliver following an Oct. 13 incident at 98 Murtland Ave. where he was found trying to distribute 20 stamp bags of heroin, state police said.
