Police Beat Jan. 13

Three injured: Three people were injured about 10:40 p.m. Monday when a vehicle went off a bridge on Plum Run Road and into a creek, Chartiers police said. All three were out of the vehicle when police arrived. The driver, Taylor Kemp, 19, of Midway, and front-seat passenger, Ryan Andrus, 22, of McDonald, were taken to St. Clair Hospital for treatment. A back-seat passenger, Kenneth Brooks Jr., 22, of Washington, was flown to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh.
Medication stolen: Harry Brown of 831 S. Country Club Road told police Saturday that his prescription medication was stolen from his home.
Vehicles entered: Mike Mattarock of 95 Barnickel St. told Chartiers police Tuesday cash and other items were stolen from his vehicle.
Vehicle entered: State police said a teenager wearing a red jacket and camouflage hooded shirt was seen about 2:20 a.m. Monday going through unlocked vehicles at 3 Independence Road. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
Faces charges: Lloyd Ames, 78, of Eighty Four, faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing his vehicle near the intersection of Conklin and Brehm roads, police said. His vehicle went off the road, ran over a fire hydrant and struck a hillside, police said. Ames, who was not injured, was taken to Canonsburg Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine his alcohol level.
Purse stolen: Rachel Shade of 920 Glenn St. told South Strabane police Monday her purse was stolen from her vehicle. The purse contained several credit cards.
Threats charge: William C. Harps, 49, of Erie, was taken into custody in Erie on Monday on a warrant issued by District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of terroristic threats, harassment and stalking stemming from an incident Saturday at 565 Broad St. He is accused of threatening to burn down the house and reportedly called the resident 100 times. He was brought to Washington County, jailed on a parole detainer and will be arraigned later this week.
Theft reported: A loss-prevention detective for Goodwill Industries told police Monday a former employee stole $1,062 by under-ringing sales at a register between Nov. 24 and Dec. 13 at the store at 89 Jefferson Ave. The worker was caught on surveillance, as well as through an audit. Charges will be filed through a private complaint.
