Police beat Jan. 19

One injured: Louis Goodman, 56, of Pittsburgh, was injured Wednesday when his car was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by Craig Pogletke, 54, of Clinton, on Interstate 70 eastbound near the Bentleyville exit, state police said. Goodman was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment. Pogletke was charged with careless driving and driving too fast for conditions.
Window damaged: Connie T. Brown of 209 Thomas Road, Bentleyville, told state police Thursday vandals broke a window at her home.
Fire reported: McDonald police, along with Burgettstown and Midway firefighters, were called Saturday afternoon to the home of Yolanda Painter, 122 Center Ave., Burgettstown, for a report of a fire in the electrical box outside the home. The siding had minor damage.
Warrant arrest: Timothy Gamble, 20, of 603 S. Central Ave., was taken into custody Sunday on an adult probation warrant after officers were called to his home for a domestic dispute. He was placed in Washington County jail.
Assault arrest: Dean Giacomantonio, 40, of 495 Ewing St., Meadow Lands, was arrested Sunday night after he allegedly assaulted Cara Cavanaugh. Police said he pushed her around and pulled chunks of hair from her head. She also injured her hand. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
ATV stolen: James Young of 529 Brigich Road told police Sunday a red 2004 Honda all-terrain vehicle was stolen from his property by the occupant of a blue Ford F-150 pickup truck with a red tailgate. Surveillance shows the vehicle on Brigich, going in the direction of Plum Rum Road.
Two charged: Edward L. Gordon III, 39, of Marianna, and David Woodhouse Jr., 35, of Washington, will be charged by state police with harassment stemming from a physical altercation Saturday at 67 Beeson Ave., Marianna.
Attempted burglary: Erica Pinkney told state police Saturday a burglar tried to break into her home at 912 Oak St., Marianna.
Burglary arrest: Jason R. Dami, 39, of 11 Farmcrest Drive, Cecil, was arrested late Saturday by McDonald police on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance after he allegedly stole a bottle containing two hydrocodone pills from a home on Washington Street. He also allegedly admitted to police he had stolen about 60 pills while he was remodeling the home in October. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County jail on $20,000 bond.
Teens charged: Two teenagers face charges after police were called earlier this month to Washington Crown Center for a report of them smoking marijuana in the family rest room. A 15-year-old Claysville boy will be charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. A 15-year-old East Finley boy will be charged with possession of marijuana.
Stolen items sold: North Franklin police were investigating after learning Friday a Playstation 4 and game had been stolen from a home in Washington had been sold for $174.40 at Game Stop, Washington Crown Center.
DUI charge: Michael A. Kusky, 40, of 160 Wylie Ave., Strabane, will be charged by North Strabane police with driving under the influence of alcohol stemming from an incident early Sunday. Police stopped another vehicle in a parking lot off Meadowlands Boulevard and Racetrack Road. Kusky allegedly drove over the curb and onto the hillside past three marked police cruisers with their lights activated that had blocked the entrance to the lot. He then drove the wrong way around the building and continued toward officer Matthew Mancini and his K-9, Drago, police said. Kusky was removed from his vehicle. Police said his blood-alcohol content was more than double the 0.08 percent limit. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Criminal mischief: Someone damaged a concrete fountain at a house in the 100 block of Hardwood Drive in Venetia between Jan. 9 and Friday. The fountain’s cover was removed, and several tiers were pushed over. Estimated cost to repair the fountain is $2,500, police said.
Drug charges: During a traffic stop Friday in the 3400 block of Washington Road, township police said they discovered the driver, Christos Stavros Semanderes, 23, of 34 Kirkwood Drive, Washington, was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Semanderes will be charged via summons.
Warrant arrest: Nicole M. Walters, 28, of 33 Hillview Lane, Finleyville, was taken into custody early Friday on an adult probation warrant after police said she was found hiding under a mattress in a bedroom at 7 McNair Ave., Slovan. Officers from McDonald and Mt. Pleasant and Smith townships took her into custody.
Vehicle entered: Items were stolen Friday from a vehicle owned by Vesta Mine Supply while the vehicle was parked at 369 Route 519, Somerset, state police said.
More items stolen: The resident of a house burglarized earlier this month on Old Courtney Hill Road told Southwest Regional police Monday she discovered eight pairs of diamond earrings, a laptop and earphones also were stolen from her home. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.
Bikes stolen: Violet Schweinebraten of 370 Duncan Ave. told Washington police Sunday a purple mountain bicycle and pink and purple girl’s bicycle were stolen from outside her home.
Woman assaulted: Brenda Patterson of Washington told police she was assaulted by another woman at a home in the 500 block of Duncan Avenue. Charges are pending against her alleged attacker.
Window broken: Ben Wilt of Butler told police a window was broken on his vehicle while it was parked Saturday in the 10 block of North College Street.
Assault arrest: Leisha Irwin, 45, of 503 Berthel Ave., Canton Township, was arrested Saturday after she allegedly punched Amanda McGary, 29, of Washington, during a confrontation inside an apartment at 173 Church St. Irwin also allegedly pointed a gun at McGary, but it was determined the weapon was a pellet gun. Irwin was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of simple assault and terroristic threats. She was released on $15,000 unsecured bond.
Package stolen: Melissa Zelenka of 50 Highland Ave. told police Saturday a package containing a black and yellow hooded jacket was stolen from her front porch. It had been delivered by the post office.
Tires slashed: Tabetha Olsen of Washington told police Saturday two tires were slashed on her vehicle while it was parked in the 400 block of Ewing Street.
Television stolen: Brent Jeter of 173 Church St. told police Saturday a TV was stolen from his apartment.
