Workers prepare to implode Hulton Bridge in Allegheny County

OAKMONT (AP) – Workers are preparing to implode the old Hulton Bridge over the Allegheny River.
The implosion of the 107-year-old span that connects the Pittsburgh suburbs of Oakmont and Harmar is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Safety zones will stop traffic on the new bridge and within 1,000 feet of the old span.
The bridge is named for Jonathon Hulton, who was one of the first landowners in the area and whose family operated a ferry across the river.
