At the request of the Planning Department, the commissioners agreed to apply $126,914 in interest collected through the Clean and Green tax-abatement program to purchase agricultural easements through the Farmland Preservation Program. At the request of the same department, the board will bid for the manufacturing and placement of two pedestrian bridges in Mingo Creek County Park along the bicycle path. Costs will be paid with oil and gas funds.

At the request of the Children and Youth Services department, the board approved a $50,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to support a forensic case coordinator/community liaison position this year at A Child’s Place in Washington, which aids in the investigation of suspected cases of child abuse.

The commissioners extended a lease between the county and the redevelopment authority for office space at Courthouse Square. Rent is $10,064 per month.

At the health center, the board extended the county’s agreement with Patricia L. Gould to operate a snack shop for residents and staff through Feb. 28, 2017.

At the request of the Purchasing Department, the commissioners added to their agreement with PSI Engineering to include air-quality control testing as needed, and for abatement projects.

At the request of the court technology department, the county also will be buying $33,332 worth of cameras and software from Anixter Inc. of Glenshaw, Ill., through a state contract that does not require bidding. Both purchases will be paid for with money from the state’s Act 13 impact fee on unconventional gas wells.
