Detour around Peters-Finleyville bridge begins soon
PennDOT advises motorists that the Venetia bridge will be closed for about 40 days, beginning Thursday, so it can be replaced.
This official detour will be marked: Starting at the closed bridge, follow Venetia Road west to Bebout Road north to East McMurray Road north and east. East McMurray enters Allegheny County, where it is known as McMurrary Road. Continue north and east to Clifton Road and turn right onto Route 88, Library Road south to return to Washington County, where Route 88 is called Sheridan Avenue. Follow Route 88 to Rankintown Road-Venetia Road west.
PennDOT expects to complete the project in mid-September.
