Greene inmate charged for contraband in prison
Editors Note: An earlier reported incorrectly identified the location in which the incident allegedly occurred. The incident occurred at the Greene County Prison operated by the county.
Jonathon Chaz Balazick, 30, of 243 Rices Landing Road, Rices Landing, was charged Friday by state police with conspiracy to contraband for possessing a controlled substance as an inmate of SCI-Greene May 27.
According to the criminal complaint, Balazick, while living at the prison, conspired with his girlfriend, Natasha M. Celli, 28, of the same Rices Landing address, for her to deliver drugs to the prison. They planned, during a recorded phone conversation, for Celli to throw a package with a syringe and five Subutex pills over the prison fence while Balazick was in the outdoor prison recreation area.
Celli followed through with their plan and was charged June 3 with prohibited acts for allegedly possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver and contraband.
Celli’s preliminary hearing before District Judge Glenn Bates is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and Balazick’s is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. July 12.
