Miss Jacktown Fair Princess Pageant set for July 17
The 2016 Miss Jacktown Fair Princess Pageant, which has five contestants this year, will be held July 17 at 7 p.m. in the Commercial Hall at Jacktown Fairgrounds.
Each girl submitted a poster advertising an event at the fair, an illustrated drawing, modeled a sundress with a short introduction and went through a five-minute interview session.
The new princess will be crowned at the end of the pageant by 2015 Jacktown Fair Princess Veronica Lasko.
The contestants for princess are Tori Flanigan, Payton Gilbert, Cameron Wendell, Kendra Tharp and Marissa Tharp.
Tori, 10, is the daughter of Donald and Jessica Flanigan of Waynesburg. Tori plays softball and has spent six years in cheerleading at West Greene. She enjoys fishing, swimming, playing outside and time with her friends.
Payton, 8, is the daughter of Robby and Jennifer Gilbert of New Freeport. Payton is a member of the West Greene Little league cheerleading squad and softball team. Payton participates in Acro, Jazz and Hip Hop at Moschetta’s Performing Arts Center. Payton enjoys hunting, fishing and trapping with her dad, playing with her animals on the farm and singing and swimming.
Cameron, 7, is the daughter of Chad and Cortney Wendell of Holbrook. Cameron participates in cheerleading, softball and basketball at West Greene. She enjoys riding four-wheelers, fishing and being with family and friends.
Kendra, 8, is the daughter of Natasha and Cory Tharp of Wind Ridge. Kendra participates in cheerleading at West Greene and Wind Ridge baseball. She enjoys playing sports, swimming and playing with her dogs.
Marissa, 9, is also the daughter of Cory and Natasha Tharp of Wind Ridge. Marissa participates in cheerleading at West Greene and Wind Ridge baseball. Marissa enjoys dancing, singing and playing baseball.
Veronica, 9, the daughter of Michael Lasko and Tracy Stewart of Sycamore, is the 2015 Jacktown Fair Princess. Veronica enjoys attending church, hunting/ fishing; Jazz, Acro and Lyrical dance, crocheting with her grandmother and her farm pets. She is a volunteer at the Waynesburg Humane Society.
The Miss Jacktown Fair Queen Pageant will also be held July 17.
