Money stolen: Elaine Strnisha of 221 S. Jefferson Ave. told Canonsburg police Thursday $500 in a bank envelope was stolen from a coffee table in her home.

Theft from package: Patricia Reese of 243 Glenn Ave. told Canonsburg police Thursday contents were stolen from a package delivered to her home.

Drug charges: Melissa M. Smith, 46, of 323 Tyler Ave., Washington, was charged Tuesday by state police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia stemming from a Jan. 30 traffic stop at Green Street and Jessop Place, Canton. The charges and traffic citations were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Man wanted on warrant: Michael J. McClain, 40, of 102 Skurkay Lane, Rostraver Township, is charged by Carroll Township police with burglary, trespassing and theft, court records show. Police accuse McClain of stealing jewelry valued at $9,400 from a residence in the 100 block of Route 88 while he worked there as a handyman between June 1 and 3, and then exchanging some of it for cash at a Rostraver pawn shop. District Judge Mark Wilson signed the arrest warrant Wednesday.

Burglary report: Jackie Jean Summers, 41, of 731 ½ Lincoln Ave., Charleroi, is charged by township police with burglary, receiving stolen property and conspiracy, court records show. She is accused of removing tools with her two small children from a residence in the 1,000 block of Route 2023 about 8:40 p.m. June 24. David A. Ashton Jr., 43, of 125 ½ Union St., Monongahela, is charged with conspiracy in the case. District Judge Mark Wilson signed their arrest warrants Wednesday.

Lewdness charge: Richard A. Quinlan, 65, of 12 S. Main St., Houston, was charged Tuesday by Houston police with open lewdness and disorderly conduct after he allegedly exposed himself to drivers traveling on South Main on June 19. Police were called for a complaint about an older white man sitting in front of an apartment building, exposing himself while holding a book. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Burglary charges: Charles Earlywine, 41, whose last known address was on Brady Avenue in Washington, and Andrew D. Bonus, 31, of 1210 Allison Ave., Washington, were charged Friday by North Franklin police with burglary, theft and criminal trespass for allegedly breaking into Forty Bar and Grille, 3390 W. Chestnut St., June 1 and stealing tools owned by a contractor working on the building. The contractor told police it appears the rear basement door was forced open. Police said the security system was disabled. Both men are in Washington County jail on other charges. They will be arraigned later before District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Assault charges: Philip R. Justice, 41, of 3020 W. Chestnut St., was charged Thursday by North Franklin police with simple assault and harassment. He is accused of assaulting his 18-year-old daughter, Hali Justice, during a July 4 confrontation at his home. Police said he allegedly slammed her head off the floor. She was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Charges were filed at the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Assault alleged: Douglas J. Nagy, 18, of 323 Aitken Ave., Rostraver Township, is charged by Westmoreland County Park Police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, court records show. Police accuse Nagy of striking Juliana Kitzmiller with a boat oar and his hand while they were on the Youghiogheny River near Cedar Creek Park about 5:50 p.m. Thursday. Nagy is free on $10,000 unsecured bond set Friday by District Judge Charles Christner.

Arson investigation: Police are trying to determine whether two recent incidents of suspected residential landscape arson in the Springdale Road, Farmview Place and Rosewood Drive area are related. In both cases, it appears trees were set on fire. The incidents occurred June 29 and July 14. Anyone with information is asked to call Peters Township police at 724-942-5030.

Harassment charge: Phil J. Kerns, 32, of Bentleyville, will be charged by state police with harassment for allegedly punching Brian A. Kerns, 23, of Bentleyville, during a confrontation Thursday at 218 Bigler Road, Somerset.

Trespass charges: Terri Lynn Cox, 55, of 168 Rose Ave., Washington, and Leah M. Cox, 35, of 15 Webb Drive, Washington, were charged this week by South Strabane police with defiant trespass. They are accused of entering Walmart, Trinity Point, May 30 after they were banned from the store. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Woman threatened: Stephanie Schultz of Fayette Street told Washington police Thursday another woman threatened to “shoot up” her home. Terroristic threats charges are pending against the other woman.

Faces drug charges: Dustin F. Brooks, 23, of 2640 Old National Pike, Washington, will be charged by Washington police with drug violations after police said he was found Thursday with 35 stamp bags of suspected heroin, empty stamp bags and paraphernalia. Police were called to a second-floor restroom at Neighborhood Health System, 95 Leonard Ave., where Brooks allegedly overdosed on heroin. Police said he was attempting to resist care being given him by emergency medical personnel and a doctor. He was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
