S. Strabane police file theft charges
South Strabane Township police filed theft-related charges last week against several people accused of stealing from businesses in the township.
• Michael S. Breese Jr., 22, of 525 Baird Ave., Washington; Tricia B. Goldreyer, 23, of 65 Laurie Lane, Washington; Michelle R. Clark, 28, of 101 Marra Ave., Washington, along with a third woman all face charges stemming from a May 15 incident at Walmart, Trinity Point.
Goldreyer and Clark reportedly stole jewelry and other items from the store. The other woman made an unsuccessful attempt to return items before Breese returned the merchandise and received a $153 gift card. Goldreyer and Clark are each charged with retail theft and conspiracy. Breese is charged with theft by deception.
• Steven R. Parsons, 32, of North Huntingdon, Westmoreland County, was charged with two counts each of retail theft and theft by deception stemming from separate incidents at two stores. He is accused of stealing items from Walmart June 25 and returning the merchandise for a $200 gift card. On July 6, he allegedly stole two power washers valued at $994 from Lowe’s, Strabane Square. Police said he walked to customer service and returned the items in exchange for a gift card.
• Erik Roux, 51, of 608 N. Main St., Washington, was charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing six Dyson vacuum cleaners valued at $3,194 from Lowe’s June 26. Police said he threw the cleaners over a fence.
• Kevin Bruce, 38, of 895 Fayette St., Washington, was charged with retail theft and theft by deception for allegedly stealing items valued at $257 from Lowe’s June 21 and returning the merchandise for a gift card.
• Kayla Cole, 18, of 1476 N. Sunset Beach Road, Claysville, was charged with felony retail theft and theft by deception for allegedly overiding prices for two customers last month for $1,591, police said.
• Michael Shaffer, 43, of Buckhannon, W.Va., is charged with theft by deception after he allegedly switched a Polaroid notebook for a Nextbook tablet when he returned the Nextbook box to Target, Strabane Square, June 20 for a $219 refund.
All the charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
