CONNELLSVILLE (AP) – Police say two people found dead in their Southwestern Pennsylvania home were elderly siblings who had fallen.

Still, because of the unusual circumstances, the Fayette County coroner has ordered autopsies Wednesday on the bodies of 87-year-old Henry Shirocky and 82-year-old Lucille Shirocky.

They lived together in the South Connellsville home where police found both dead early Tuesday afternoon.

Police were asked to check on them after a Meals on Wheels volunteer noticed that a previous meal had not been brought in from their porch.

Police believe Lucille Shirocky fell out of her wheelchair and that her brother also fell and became entangled with her while trying to help her up.

Police Chief Russell Miller says the deaths appear to be “just an unfortunate tragedy.”
